The Local Intervention Measure enables the SADC de Matagami to initiate, support and/or finance promising collective projects on its territory that respond to one or more identified economic issues. SADC support via the MIL program is a non-refundable financial contribution granted as part of a partnership approach with project promoters.
Eligible project promoters are NPOs and businesses whose head office or activities are located within the territory of the SADC de Matagami. Qualified organizations must also carry out, through one or more individuals, partnerships or cooperatives, an organized socio-economic activity involving the production and administration of goods or the provision of various services in the community.
Eligible projects are structuring initiatives* that generate local economic development impacts. These projects can be:
- Awareness-raising activities to generate interest in specific issues or problems;
- Facilitation, community consultation or networking activities designed to rally different players around specific issues or problems;
- Design of local initiatives or projects that promote local development;
- Activities leading, in collaboration with other Matagami or Radisson stakeholders, to the coordination of local economic development strategies enabling the implementation of a realistic action plan;
- Consulting and coaching services for specific organizations.
What is a structuring project?
A structuring project falls within the scope of regional or local development priorities, and in an area with proven growth potential that generates a multiplier effect in the socio-economic structure of the territory. A structuring project is also collective in nature and necessarily brings people together within the community or communities in which it is deployed.
